MTENDE BEACH; is well known for its beautiful white sandy beaches but this one is a little hidden gem. On the South East Coast of Zanzibar, there is a small village called Mtende, a place where a pristine beach is located and some of its inhabitants are dependent on fishing. Mtende Beach is located between two huge rocky barriers, which makes it one of the most quiet and warm rocky beaches even in the coldest seasons. The beauty of the beach is not limited to these barriers, it also contains huge trees that are almost over a thousand years old, and its waters are emerald green. On this beach, swimming, boating, fishing and many more can be done.

I’ve gone through everything you need to know before visiting Mtende beach in this blog post, that way you can have the best visit possible. The main section of the beach is situated between two rock formations, in a big core. It’s absolutely stunning, and one of the coolest places to watch the tides change on the island.
If you didn’t know already, Zanzibar is one of the places with the most drastic tides I have ever witnessed. Mtende Beach is just like most of the other beaches in that regard. Make sure you do your research and look up when the tides will be out and in whenever you’ll be visiting Mtende. When the tide is low you can walk all the way down the beach but when it’s high tide it comes all the way to the stadone
